Prelude

Fading oak leaf

“The pain of leaving those you grow to love
is only the prelude to understanding yourself and others.”

  1. This reminded me of lessons learned when I’ve lost people, people have moved, or I’ve had to let go. I spent half the day looking for plane tickets to Oregon for Christmas, which makes me look forward to seeing my brother and his family, but at the same time I’m scared because it always hurts so much when I have to leave them…especially Charlie. I guess I was trying to tell myself that the pain is worth the love…I always grow personally through the pain. Not sure that makes it any easier though.
