Where is the Dawn?

Beauty Spot

“Hope begins in the dark,
the stubborn hope that if you just show up
and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.
You wait and watch and work: you don’t give up.”

Anne Lamott, b. 1954

I’ve been trying. I’ve been waiting, watching, and working. Goodness knows I’ve been stubborn. So far I haven’t given up. But I’m growing weary, tired, and worn. Tired and weary for myself, weary for others who have given everything they have and keep waiting in the dark, with hope, for the dawn. Lord, please send some light our way. Please send others to wait patiently and supportively with us in our weariness. Please renew our hope before we give up.

  1. This seemed the most fitting post:

“WHATEVER you do, work at it with ALL your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Colossians 3:23

    — Continue to BE THE DIFFERENCE in all you do!

  2. Lee, you help bring the dawn to others every day, touching more people than you know with beauty. My day is not complete without “From These Hills.” Thank you.
